Defend Reproductive Healthcare
Riding on the energy of the recent nationwide attacks on reproductive health, anti-choice forces are working to qualify a ban on public funding of abortion for Oregon’s 2018 ballot.
Oregon is the only state without any legal barriers to reproductive healthcare, including abortion. And during the legislative session Oregon made even more strides, expanding access to reproductive care to all Oregonians. This initiative would strike a huge blow to Oregon women’s autonomy and rollback decades of hard work.
IP 1, LIMITS FUNDING FOR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH: While Oregonians have defeated anti-choice measures in the past, there’s reason to be concerned about the latest attempt: This time, the measure would ban reproductive health access to both health plans funded by public dollars and any Oregonian receiving publicly-assisted healthcare. This measure would hurt and target the women and families that need reproductive healthcare access the most.
