Anti-abortion extremists have put a constitutional amendment on Oregon’s 2018 ballot that would cut access to care for vulnerable Oregonians. Measure 106 is a backdoor ban on abortion. It would make it so only those who can afford it are able to access abortion. A right is not a right when people can’t afford to access it.
Measure 106 sets a dangerous precedent of cherry-picking which medical procedures will or will not be covered by insurance, and limits access to healthcare for hundreds of thousands of Oregonians.
A fringe anti-abortion extremist group called Oregon Life United backs Measure 106. Over 70% of Oregon voters believe women should have access to the full range of reproductive health care, starting with preventative care and continuing through postpartum care. Oregon Life United is out of step with Oregon voters, who have twice voted “NO” on similar measures.
